Our Story
A practice built on patience and genuine care
Kasih was founded to give families in Malaysia a place where legal matters are handled with both competence and humanity.

The story behind Kasih
Kasih — the Malay word for love and compassion — was chosen deliberately. The founders saw, through years of court appearances and client meetings, that families approaching legal proceedings were often left feeling overwhelmed, unheard, and unsure of what the next step would bring. That gap between what families needed and what they were receiving became the reason for starting something different.
Established in Bangsar Baru, Kuala Lumpur, our practice focuses entirely on family matters: separation and divorce, child custody and guardianship, and maintenance arrangements. We chose to remain focused rather than broad, because we believe depth of experience in these specific areas serves our clients better than a general practice ever could.
Every person who walks through our door carries something real and personal. We hold that with care. Our process is unhurried by design — we set out the options clearly, answer questions without making anyone feel rushed, and move at the pace that the individual or family needs.
Our Mission
What guides everything we do
Our mission is straightforward: to give families clear, honest legal guidance during some of the hardest transitions they will face. We do not use difficult language to appear more authoritative. We do not create a sense of urgency where there is none. We explain, we listen, and we support.
Compassion first
We approach every matter with the understanding that there are real people — and often children — at the centre of it.
Clarity in everything
Legal processes can feel opaque. We make them clear, setting out each step so you know where you stand at all times.
Respect for your pace
We work at the speed that is right for your circumstances, never the speed of our schedule.

Our Values & Expertise
Family law advisory centred on the people it affects most
Family law in Malaysia sits across two distinct legal systems — the Civil courts that apply the Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act 1976, and the Syariah courts that govern matters for Muslim families under Islamic Family Law enactments specific to each state. Navigating either system well requires both technical knowledge and a steady temperament, because the decisions made during these proceedings carry real and lasting weight for everyone involved.
At Kasih, we work across both systems. Our approach to every matter — whether a divorce petition in the High Court or a custody application at the Syariah court — begins with making sure you understand what is happening, what your options are, and what each path is likely to mean for you and your family. We do not rush this. We take the time needed to make certain you feel informed rather than simply processed.
Separation and divorce touch more than just the legal relationship between two people. They reach into living arrangements, financial stability, the daily routines of children, and the emotional wellbeing of everyone in the family. Our advisors are trained to see this wider picture and to keep it in view as we help you make decisions. We draw on experience with asset division, joint property, EPF nominations, and maintenance obligations to give advice that is grounded in the practical realities of Malaysian law.
Children's matters are handled with particular care. We understand that the choices made about custody, access, and guardianship shape how children experience the transition their family is going through. We focus on arrangements that are workable, fair, and — above all — in keeping with the child's welfare and continuity of care.
Maintenance arrangements, whether for a spouse or for children, are often misunderstood. The law in Malaysia does not prescribe fixed formulas, and outcomes depend heavily on how the financial situation is presented and understood by the court. We help our clients prepare clearly and thoughtfully, so that maintenance orders reflect what is genuinely appropriate to the circumstances.
Kasih is located in Bangsar Baru, a short distance from the courts and easily reachable from across the Klang Valley. Our office is a quiet, private space — chosen with care because we know how much it matters to speak about personal matters in an environment that feels safe and unhurried.
